Getting Pregnant After 40 Years Old

When you’re looking to get pregnant after reaching your 40’s, thing are bound to get a bit complicated. No doubt that you’re aware of all the stories and statistics on how difficult it is to fall pregnant or to maintain your fertility after reaching the age of 35, let alone 40. It’s undeniable that  age is an increasing risk factor to pregnancy the older you get.

Perhaps the only advantages on conceiving at an older age is that you’re probably mentally and financially ready to have and care for a child. That is an important factor in a child’s upbringing.

Generally speaking, however, getting pregnant after 40 is a somewhat risky proposition. It’s important to thoroughly check your health prior to conceiving to minimize the risks involved for both you and your baby. Prevention is always paramount.
